Portishead Lifeboats - Boatyard
« on: October 02, 2013, 08:27:33 am »

Hi,
Just thought I would post some pictures as I walked around the boatyard in Portishead. Not sure of the history of the boats but good to see them being renovated. Think one was an ex-Angle lifeboat.

I thought the old Angle Watson was renamed Spirit of Angle and is berthed in Milford Haven.

Ned,

Think you maybe right, here's a couple more of the older boats plus a Tyne RNLB Mary Irene Millar.

Hiya,
the Angle lifeboat is the 'Richard Vernon and Mary Garforth of Leeds' a 46'9" Watson, when sold renamed Spirit of Angle. Have not seen her in Milford for a couple of years, heard she has got new owners.

I think the 42' Watson might be the JW Archer, but not sure...heard she was down that way under restoration.

would love some deck shots of her if anyone gets a chance.
