Mtroniks Viper 15 ESC
« on: August 20, 2013, 07:10:14 pm »

I am having a bit of trouble with the Mtronics esc in my boat. I know that there is a sequence for setting these up, but the instructions that I have are the more up to date version that don't show this.
The old instructions showed a sequence of red and green lights that allowed you to set up a few parameters.
So, my question is, does anybody have these old instructions that they could scan and post on here.
Fingers crossed Alan

I have some some where and will dig out and scan unless another beats me to it.
To set up in ahead / stern  it is hold the button down >turn on power > move the throttle stick full ahead > then allow neutral >then full astern > then allow neutral again  (neutral = stop or rest) wait for the two LED's to stop flashing ad hey presto F & R all set. other things like brake or single direction are to follow.

Thought the turn on and press button within 2 secs.
Then do the rest.

As both you and catengineman point out, that is the normal set up, and I can manage that even without instructions. In the old instructions they told you this, but there was also a set sequence to set other things.
I am having trouble with revers on the esc and have cured this in the past with said sequence
I lent the instructions to someone and they lost them

This from a 20 amp instruction leaflet, but doubtless the same for all ESCs

Fine tuning can be enteretd by pressing the set button and holiding it down for one second whilst the \esc is in neutral (both green & red LED on). Confirmation that you have entered firn tuning is by a flashing green LED.
Press button once - red light flashes once - no reverse
pause
Press button once - red light flashes twice - 1 second delay for reverse
pause
Press button once - red light flashes three times - 0.5 second delay for reverse
pause
Press button once - red light flashes four times -no delay for reverse
Red led flashes for two seconds
red and green solid

The bit that usually gets missed is to make sure that the servo reverse switch on the TX is set to normal when training the ESC.

This is on the Mtroniks web site. Think it's what you need.
