Royal Marine Band figures
« on: September 02, 2013, 06:23:02 pm »

Hi
can anyone help me out  with a few figures from a Royal Marine Band please?
These are the type and size that Airfix used to make, and I think are 1/72ND Scale.
My idea is to have a band party on the quarterdeck of my HMS RAMILLIES for the "sunset" ceremony,so would need a few                   buglers and drummers perhaps?
If anyone has seen Ray Scrivens' model of the Royal Yacht "Brittania",these are the type I am looking for.
             Many Thanks,
                                Mick F

At this size it would be too difficult to give the Airfix band a make over The only thing that needs modifying is the Bearskin.  Cut the bearskin down and add a card brim and a tiddy bit of filler you got the RM Band's Sun Helmets.  At this scale a dark blue paint job would take care the uniforms.

Our Association attended the "unveiling" of Toms sculpture, magnificent it is too! It would be nice if the authorities allowed our plaque to be placed on the sculpture though.
