I've built the "Marie Amelie". It is an "easy build" model in that the sides, bottom and transom are sheet material as opposed to planks.

Anyway, here's a photo of my completed model.

I'm not a fan of the "stick-on" windows (as supplied in the kit) so these were cut out and coloured acetate used for the glazing. This was done to disguise the fact that the wheelhouse is bare 
 
Inside the hull I added glass-fibre/resin to keep it all nice and watertight, just in case the water should ever penetrate the paintwork.
 
One other thing to note - the model is flush decked. On mine I've added a coaming to the opening and stepped the working deck to suit.
 
I think this is a nice beginners kit and the more experienced builder can add those personal touches - have fun

Hi Ray,
Thank you for the reply. I was looking for a plank on frame model to build this winter, so your info. regarding the method of construction has helped me to pick the Billings kit. I like the additions you have made, the line with white floats attached is perfect, from a roller blind perhaps? May I ask where you got the figures from?

You're correct, the white "floats" are indeed from a roller blind.
 
The figures (and fish in the box) were from a stand at one of the model boat shows. I'm afraid I can't remember the name of the trader, if I do recall it eventually, I'll let you know.
 
If you look carefully at the overhead shot you will see an exhaust protruding from the wheelhouse roof, just to the rear. This was just a "bendy" straw which was painted with "aluminium" paint.

Good luck with your winter project - and take plenty photos for posting on a thread.
