SOLOMON BROWNE LIFEBOAT PHOTOS
« on: September 26, 2013, 07:16:25 pm »

Could anyone help me out with ANY photos of the "Solomon Browne " Lifeboat please.
I am soon to acquire a model of her, which I plan to display with my other models,to raise funds for the RNLI.
As part of the display I like to show photos of the real thing, and I only have 3 or 4 of this particular boat.
Any copies of her would really be appreciated. Please PM me?
Many Thanks,
Mick F

PS I hope the mods will not find it necessary to move this, but please feel free to do so,its just that I thought it might get more coverage under this section perhaps? Thanks

Hi Mick,
If you go to google main page, click on images and then enter "Solomon Browne Lifeboat"

You will get a stack of images of the boat including images from the disaster.

Hope this helps

Hi Dave, could you tell me the title and author of the book please? I could probably get it from my local library, and scan them myself to save you the trouble?
I am in contact with Neil all the time as he is a good mate of mine.
Many Thanks,

Some photos here: http://www.solomonbrownememorialhall.co.uk/Penlee-Lifeboat.asp

Given the vintage of the RN helicopter in Image 4 of the slideshow, I think there's an excellent chance that these photos are of Solomon Browne. Good luck!

And, FWIW, I always put money into the RNLI boxes during my trips to the U.K. A truly wonderful organization! :-))
