Can anyone tell me what this is a model of?
« on: October 25, 2013, 01:25:56 pm »

Hi,
Recently bought this 55" boat off ebay and I am struggling to find out any information on it, is this an actual boat or just a model built from somebody's imagination? Someone told me it looks like possibly a vic smeed design but yet again cannot seem to find anything out about it.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks
Krystian

Looks a little like a Maycraft Mercury!

Thanks for your replies guys and thank you circlip  :-))  I have just looked up about the Lorraine MM512 and you are spot on!
This boat has been really well built but is looking tired now so I intend to strip all the paint back to wood and give it a complete refurb.
It currently has a large single motor in it but I intend to replace this with 2 900 motors with twin props which I have acquired over the weekend.
It is pretty heavy so once the motors are in it I am hoping it is well ballast for the water and obviously as she is a big girl it should sail well even in the choppy waters of my local boat club.
