Hello everbody, I am searching for a particular model of the m.s Elizabeth Bowater. The model was built in 1971/72 by Mr D.W Greenslade and was a month on month feature in "Ships Monthly" magazine. She was built to a scale of 1/48 and the hull was constructed using the bread and butter method. Mr Greenslade was a skilled model maker and used his model making ingenuity to produce the many fittings needed. The final product was an extremely detailed model of a fine motorship. In the Ships Monthly feature he states that he built a glass fronted cabinet for the model to live in so I am hoping it has survived the test of time. As a matter of interest my Dad sailed on this ship in the 60`s a 2nd Mate as well as other ships belonging to the Bowater Steamship Co. Any help will be very gratefully recieved. Thank you.

silly question but have you contacted Ships Monthly as to whether they still hold contact records..........long time ago, but if they can give you the general area where he lived, he might have family decedents living nearby.
