Boat to Holland
« on: June 19, 2007, 05:08:11 pm »

Hans ( or HVG as he is known on the Forum) wants to buy my St Nectan.
Problem: I live near Bournemouth, he lives in Holland and ST Nectan is a big boat - Too big for a car.

Any ideas as to how to get the boat to him?  Building a box and shipping it seems difficult and expensive as the box would have to be 6'6" x 3' x 1' and the boat is heavy.

The van sounds like a good idea. You should be able to bring back a few tots of rum for your fellow sailors.

Yes, should pay for itself - especially if you travel via Calais or Dunkerque (latter by Norfolkline - good prices)

After several e-mails to Hans, we have decided that shipping the boat to Holland is not viable - too expensive.
Hans has decided to buy the kit instead - good luck to him.

Thanks for all your advice.

Ken

PS Any buyers for St Nectan ??????
