knightstone Model Boat Club
« on: December 05, 2013, 11:13:20 pm »

Anyone here a member?
We have just moved up to Redditch and I am looking for a reasonably local club to get sociable again!!
Have found KMBC on t'internet, but just wanted to hear what folks have to say..........
Would like to get over one weekend - would be in the New Year now - is there much weekend sailing?

Look forward to hearing ......................
Cheers, Carl

Carl, just checking, did you really mean Knightstone MBC or Knightcote MBC?   Pete

Carl, I have been a member since it started 10 years ago.  It is a very good club, everyone is friendly and helpful.   The water is open every day of the year, and we now have a new clubhouse with facilities for tea, coffee, soup etc.   Our main sailing day is on a Thursday, the second and fourth Monday mornings are for yachting, and we do have racing on several Sundays.   During the year we have a couple of social functions, an Open Day, a Sunday Lunch, and sometimes a barbeque.   We have members who travel from Evesham, Birmingham, and other far off places.  Most of the info is given on the web site, but if you want a good old chat, the man to contact is the Secretary, Derek Nelson.   Pete Munday

Thankyou Peter - I will do that!
Certainly sounds like an active club - and from the website they seem to have quite enviable facilities.
Am erecting a 10x8 shed this weekend, so cant get down there just yet.....but will certainly try to contact Mr. Nelson in the meantime.
Thanks for being in touch  :-))
