My new boat from primer to gloss !
« on: June 20, 2007, 02:30:03 pm »

There ya go what ya think my first attempt at a boat, as you can see i run 1/10th cars as well thats my race car in the pic as well. The boat is grounded and stripped again at minute waiting for a 775 motor, carbon prop, water cooling and twin battery set up for bit more speed! ;D

Very nice. Would float better if you put the plug in the bath  ???

Sorry, nothing personal, but, I just hate those things, painting is an art in itself though!

Oops took pics off photobucket site so in a flash they have gone!! :o
Where do you race and where can i find somewhere within a 50 mile radius of Leicester to look at possible racing?
Yeah i prefer things that go a little faster than a full scale model, but thats not to say i dont appriciate the hours of work that have gone in to them and the final model a float...but for me its speed speed speed all the way...probably why i race cars as well and also my real car is often racing down Santapod!
This is just my first trial boat have a huge resovoir near me for practice, gonna slowly build up a collection of powerfull electrics then look at a fibre glass hull bit more robust and up for some break neck speeds!

In that case - I WON'T admire your paint job, as I ain't seen it  ;D ;D ;D

(edit your first post and click "additional options", browse to your photo on your PC, click "Attach", post - and your photo will be here for evermore) ;D ;D

You are lucky to have found a reservoir near Leicester, when I lived there (3 years ago) there was nowhere.  Mind you with IC engines, it's hard to "sneak" a run on any lake.
There are a couple of clubs not too far away which do racing (not sure about the FE side but , as they do IC, they probably have FE interests also).
Kingsbury Water Park MBC, near Tamworth (M69, M6, M42N - about 40 mins)
Burton on Trent MBC (about 35 mins on old A50)
Peterborough, Orton Mere (about 40 mins A47)

My ideal boat -
Piece of indestructable balsa, sharpened to a point.  Add LARGE engine, big prop, RC with two settings - slow (for launch) and "Bl**dy H*ll, that's fast"  :o :o

Just remembered your "Santa Pod" comment - take 10 minutes from above times (except Burton - speed cameras every ten feet).
