I have been working on this, on and off, for a while and have finally got around to finishing it.
It depicts two French lads standing on a destroyed jetty, around them are the remnants of British and French soldiers who made it to the jetty and radioed for help, they left helmets, weapons etc in their bid to escape. They look confused and unsure an innocence that is to be lost.
The jetty is made from polystyrene that has been coated and then airbrushed, the ladder rungs are staples, the telegraph pole is just an old boat mast toothpicks for the wire stays, small fishing line markers have been sanded down to create the insulators. The half sunken boat came off my trawler that got dropped. The water is silicone and then a black wash added to show fuel oil and give a general dark ugly feel to it. The equipment is 1/35 scale British weapons, with barrels and Jerry cans, the radio is the one from my Universal Carrier, the figures are Masterbox peasants with one lad in a Tommy tin hat and the other wearing a French Adrian pattern helmet.
