Hi Welsh Wizard
When you say boat museum did you mean Maritime museum Liverpool.
http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/maritime/visit/directions.aspx
There was a post on Mayhem but I cannot find it telling you the best way to get from the Wirral to Liverpool. Maybe they will read this and post again.

The Ellesmere port place the show is in is a museum, the full title is `The National Waterways Museum` , he probably didnt mean the maritime museum, probably meant the one the show is in

Parking in Liverpool I think is expensive. The the post I cannot find surgested parking at the station I think it was Bebington and get the train to James Street close to the docks. This would save tunnel fees and parking fees.
I feel sure one of the members from Wirral will give you the information later.

The March Model Boat Show this coming weekend is at the The Boat Museum at Ellesmere Port, not Liverpool.
If you want to visit the Maritime Museum at Albert Dock there is a train service from Ellesmere Port to James Street, the nearest station to the Albert Dock, but I have no idea of the times or frequency of those trains.  There will also be a bus service to Birkenhead Woodside where the ferries run from to Liverpool.

I think the trains from Chester to Liverpool are more frequent so, yes, parking at Hooton, Eastham Rake. Bromborough or Bebington may be a better option, thanks for mentioning it.

The trains from Ellesmere port station which is about a eight minute walk away, run at 12 & 42 minutes past the hour journey time of 35 minutes.  The bus station is abut a 25 minute walk away a couple of buses run, journey time about an hour.

I put a list of traders attending on Mayhem last week but here it is again:- Adrian's Marine Figures, Mac's Mouldings, Model by Design and DBH Marine in the old cafe, with Component Shop, Marks Model Bits, SHG Marine, Scale Hobbies, Model Sounds, Starloc, Mountfleet Models and Model Boat Bits in the Main Hall.  There will be two Clubs in the theatre, the Bring and Buy Sale will be in the lower floor of the Island Warehouse.  The rest of the clubs will be in the Boat Hall, the Rolt Centre and the Pattern Shop.  The David E. Owen Competition will be at the top of the stairs in the Rolt Centre for the real experts in our hobby.
There is an excellent cafe and of course the rest of the Museum is open to those who want to take the opportunity of having a look around.  The trip boat will also be operating for any one who wants a trip up the canal.
There is also the chance of seeing some real ships passing up and down the Manchester Ship Canal, as high water is around the midday time, so any outward bound traffic will be heading towards downwards before then and the inward bounders will pass after then.

Nice to see list of the Traders attending the show complete with their locations. As it is my first visit to this show is it possible to obtain a map show the actual layout of the show to enable seeing each in order.
