RC Ben-My-Chree (6)
« on: January 30, 2014, 11:47:38 pm »

Hi,

I was wondering if there was anyone out there/any sites/companies people know of that could build me a reasonable size Remote Controlled fully working Ben-My-Chree (6) of the Isle Of Man Steam Packet Company. I'd like her as she is now and in the present Steam Packet Livery. A working stern ramp would also be a huge bonus.

I'm not exactly sure about the price of these models, though I would of course be more than willing to pay a fair price.

I've always wanted a model Packet Boat and was really motivated when I seen this video (http://youtu.be/qX-xhlyFp9w) on youtube. Owning a model like that would be a dream come true to be honest.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Doing a guesstimate, start thinking in terms of at least £1000 per foot run for a custom scratch build of good quality.  Adding working features comes extra.  To self build, think £100 per foot.

I've found a picture of the real ship.

Why not have a go a making her yourself.  It looks similar to the Gry Maritha

Cheers
