model carry bag

Hello all
i need some ideas from you all i have a large model Hovercraft to carry about its 5 foot long by 2 foot wide i am looking for some kind bag to carry this in ideally i would like to carry the model flat too not on its side do you have any ideas see attached pic the bow door would be closed during transport,I have asked about this before and looked into a trolley but i went off the idea

And mine! (even if it is 3 propellors and a hundred feet short!)


I think something that size is probably going to really only fit in a suitcase. I've got sports-type bag for my tank but that's not big enough for your purposes.

But surely if you can do a ('blinking' bloody) skirt, a custom bag should be easy!  %%

Build yourself a transport box for the model, slide up side, or lid version,  all of my current up 'todate' projects now get stored and transported in solid ply boxes, they fit in cars easier, there is no damage in transporting them, and you can stack them in a location easily,some boxes are fitted with pre cut carry handles others have rope handles.


A 'bag' will never offer you the protection you really want for your creations, a box is the best way i've found to keep those models in top condition during the rough handling.

 Hi Tim.
 thought about surf board bag long enough but doesn't have the height, where as the builders 1 ton bag has the height but only 900mm square

What about a skeletal frame from 15mm copper, to act as the support for a light plastic outer covering (the ABS water tube is probably too flimsy, and no lighter)

Make a linen bag thick, as walker's backpack with tissues of the bag indicated by  HMSANTRIM this above

Put one a stiff bottom.

You girth the Hovercraft on the bottom.

You put straps (suspenders) as walker's backpack.

You can transport on the back your Hovercraft without fatigue.

You have the free hands.

You can give the hand to your wife, it will be in happy .......

The cost is derisory

and at 5 foot wide (152.4cm), it will be just like a ladder in a slapstick comedy film - every time he turns to look at another boat he's passing it'll whack the wife on the back {-) , not helpful in keeping the marriage happy then  {-) , and dont go there when passing between posts, like a dog with a large stick and a door frame.  {-)

Is it just me that has visions of it hitting said wife in the back at the pond side and sending her head first in  {-) {-)

Try putting Moducarry in your search engine.  We had them at the Model Boat Convention 2 years ago they will make a carry bag to your requirements.

The Hovercraft is 5 feet long and  2 feet wide, my idea to carry in the back is possible.

Maybe even to use bags MODUCARY in this way

Or there are several garden type bags (or barbecue covers upside down ;) ) that could fit the bill.

Cheers all i have sent an email to the moducarry people they look to be the best,Its been sugested before that i carry it on my back but i am not keen on that idea
