I like a good pylon just as much as the next man but I don't think I'll be paying £15 for the privilege of being called a weirdo. {-)

Is being interested in pylons really any stranger than, say, trains? Or stamps? Or spending £££ and HHH building small versions of real boats or seeing if your tiny boat can go faster than anyone elses?

Any visiting alien would wonder at all of us I think. There's nowt so queer as folk.

Probably not, although at least we have the satisfaction of building an accurate replica of the boats and trains - and they actually move - and you can put the stamps in an album and look at them in your own home.

However, to each his own.

But don't forget Peter, it's not obligatory to make a museum quality replica to enjoy floatin yer boat.   O0

In the long run it's good that not everyone is into model boats.  There wouldn't be enough space at the the lake.

It would interesting to know if the Romans had people who fascinated by Hypercausts or the Greeks featured a "Doric" column of the month and maybe in the year 2525 there will a web site for those interested in Transdimensional Tachyon Pulsators.

I agree completely, Ian, perhaps I should have said "reasonably accurate". My models are far from museum quality but I get a lot of enjoyment from the hobby.

:-)) I thought the idea of this hobby was to get pleasure from building and sailing model boats,if getting a perfect model is your aim in life good luck and well done but please don't decry anyone who is not up to your standard,it takes many years to get a reasonable standard and many a youngster has been put off by one of the so called experts pulling their pride and joy to pieces, please excuse the ranting of a grumpy old man, happy sailing everybody,Ray. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))
