Unknown Fibreglass hull
« on: March 09, 2014, 03:01:00 pm »

Hi guys,
I was given this hull today at my local club, apparently it's supposed to be a coaster or something? Anyone have any ideas what it is, or if there are any plans etc available?

She actually measures 680mm long x100mm wide.

Cheers,
Steven

Looks similar to the Africa Star, passenger/cargo vessel or the Atlantic Conveyor from Models By Design. It isn't but resembles a tanker or cargo ship.

My models are not nice, clean and ship-shape. They be mucky, grubby, rusty and smelly.

Yeah does looks similar, although the size is a lot smaller than the models by design!

Looking again I thought it could be a Model Slipway 4 or 10 hatch coaster as the hulls are the same but the bow is higher and they are slightly longer.

Could be one of Jimmy Wood's fishing trawler hulls, he has done a good few with the bulbous bow...usually on the larger pelagic purse seiners operating from Peterhead and Norway/fairoes

you can find him on Trawler Photos web site.

Dont think that is a bill wood hull--he put his name inside--looks like a container ship or bulk carrier==Charlie
