Nav lights
« on: March 20, 2014, 11:25:24 pm »

Wondered if anyone has come across these for sale while trawling the tinternet, they are off an old boat that I am restoring and I could do with a similar pair for yet another restoration project.

Have a look at Reade Models website, select Ship Fittings 2 and scroll to the bottom of the page.

Hope this helps.

Hi Alan, I had a similar problem with finding extra same parts for one of my boats.
What I did was to brush the required part with thin oil press it into plastercine
then remove the part and you now have a mold.I placed the mold in the fridge
it hardens the plastercine up a bit I mixed my resin/bodyfiller and filled the mold
and when set removed it from the mold by sticking a bit of tape to it and giving
a gentle pull. That is if you want parts of the same size of course, if you need more
just push the plug/part into the plastercine a few times.

Thanks for all the replies lads  :-))

Brian, very near there Brian, but they don't look quite right and I might have a job making those into working lights, but thanks anyway.

John, I might just have a go at doing as you suggest, nothing to lose by having a go.  :-))

Pat, I don't know of anywhere on our little island that would do that, they do look nice though.

i think marks model bits ( MMB ) do something like that . but there cast resin ones  and you would have to modify them if you wanted them to work
