But hello again.
My cabin cruiser has sat on the shelf for almost 2 years now, waiting for me to refurbish it again.
Any one who doesnt remember it (most, I should think) can search for gwen eagle and/or olive tree.
Anyway, life has finally settled down enough for me to correct some faults that cropped up.
The 50 year old mahogany planking did not like the move to Cyprus and 45c temps in the room. They grew and grew and the paint split along every plank each summer. So I had to skim the entire boat with glass resin inside and out and wait another summer to see if it held. It has and there are no cracks, so I'm now repainting it. I've had major problems finding decent paint here, and I've learnt the hard way not to paint when the outside temp is 40 degrees c
I cant remember how much I reported last time, but I've also replaced the very long drive shafts with 10" and moved the props much closer to the hull. I tried some kort tubes around the props, but they had no effect, so they are in the bin and I moved to much larger rudders to make the boat more responsive.
Not even sure if I still have my avatar after all this time. if it doesnt show up I'll get another one.
