so far its looking good down here , turned down a job that would have meant the weekend in glasgow , been sailing at our club yesterday , might try the latest purchase this afternoon if the drizzle lets up , then we have the chichester canal cruise tommorrow , so its almost been a whole weekend of model boating !

Just got back from the lake.

NE wind straight off the North Sea.
Darn Cold.
Only three yachts and 6 Club members.

Gloves and woolly hats on Easter Sunday  >>:-( >>:-( >>:-(

Two hours good sailing though. :-))

Dont tell me, the clapham lake is out of bounds? What about wimbledon? surely one of them allows boaters? My brother still lives in putney, I'm pretty sure he sails his boats in the pond behind hampton court.

I know all about the house prices. %%  I was born just off the wandsworth end of putney bridge road in a coronation street style of terraces. in the late 50's they were condemned for flats to be built. the flats didnt get built, and my dad was offered the rented house for £500 in 1960. he turned it down (didnt want to his own maintenance). When my mum finally left that house in 2005, it was worth over a half million, and theres at least one lord and lady living in the street now.

:-)) The pond on Clapham common is dry and any case rather small,I have used other ponds but parking is a problem with a lot of them, I would like to find another for when I can't use Silvermere, a lot of the lads use Woking clubs waters which the club has kindly allowed us to use but is a lot further away,so if any of you guy's have any ideas I be very grateful,Ray. :-)) :-)) :-))

I've just checked my brothers website. he used clapham long pond, but the pics are 3 years old. Also one on cockle pond, haslar (wherever that is.
Have a look at his scratch built boat here http://www.pbase.com/john_cooper/baby_bootlegger Go to the last pic first, and they are a history of the build and testing.

The Cockle pond is in Gosport near to RN Hospital Haslar.
Reputed to be the largest model boat pond in Europe.
I assume this means man made as opposed to natural
lakes etc.

Lots of lakes/lochs to play on in the boarders but not many, if any, people do,  nice on sunny but not terribly warm, so far nice walk on the Mull of Galloway yesterday observing and photographing the tidal race in the area. Today, as all the shops on the English side of the boarder are closed, the Jocks are doing roaring trade, so the car was washed.
