Hi all,

I am new to this site and pretty new to model boats, I currently have 5 boats and this is my latest addition which I bought this week.
I have been trying to find out what this is a model of but there are so many Beam Trawlers around the internet that it is very hard to know where to start  {:-{

Can anybody help me with this one with some info on the boat on which it is modelled from?

I look forward to your replies and your help.

No port registration or number. So probably no particular boat.

hi rhino , i worked on beam trawlers for about 8 years and without proper name and number it will be impossible to tell what its supposed to be.

Its not all bad news as by what i'm seeing in the picture i would say its dutch and is trying to be a 40 m long by 8 m class of beamtrawler.

I say this due to been an old type hull with a covered in stern , and square wheelhouse.

You will have to do a lot of research on this boat as a lot of the details are wrong or missing , to give you an example the derrick  ( upright black poles in the middle ) stays would never be chain because you can not tell when its to worn, but instead they use wire.

the other good news is there is lots of information out there , start by searching for beamtrawlers for sale on the net as this may bring up a boat of simular type and age to work from - and the added bonus of pictures.

best of luck with your project
