Deans Motor Gun Boat - where is it now?
« on: September 13, 2008, 07:33:43 am »

Hello Mayhemers,

I wonder whether anyone knows where my old Deans Marine Motor Gun Boat is these days? I built it back in the early 90s and sailed it at my local lake (Black Park, near Slough) and also at quite a few events around the south of England - the first Festival of Marine Modelling at Greenwich Maritime Museum, for example 8also the second), quite a few times at Beale Park, Wings & Wheels and others. I attended many of these events as a member of Hanwell model Club.

Shortly before leaving the country in 1996, I sold the model to a chap known around the meetings as 'Gunboat Ron', who lived in Bedford and was a member of the Leighton Buzzard club, I believe.

If the model is still in existence, I'd be pleased to hear news of it.

There are some pictures of the model here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/david_e_smith/sets/72157607261676935/

This was the last model I actually managed to complete! I really must get another finished one of these days.

Thanks.

Just found this post from 15 years ago, my details have changed but I am still looking for Gunboat Rom & my old Deans MGB if anyone knows anything about either of them I'd be pleased to hear it.
