Outboard electric motor
« on: December 08, 2014, 09:00:06 am »

To Mayhem via Email...

Hi Martin, I've been looking for someone to help me find an outboard electric motor for a model I'm building of one of my full
sized cruiser that I had in 1969. But alas I've not known where to look.

I just came across your great story regarding one of your model trials that had an outboard motor. I thoroughly enjoyed the
read too. - http://tinyurl.com/k7476k6

I had to give up all my hobbies when my sweet wife was struck down by a devastating brain embolism in 1995 because I was
then a 24 hour carer, she couldn't do anything at all, even not able to speak or communicate since that day 19 years ago.
Sadly she passed away last year 2013. This boat I'm trying to build from scratch is one we  enjoyed a few years in the good
old days that I'd built on the kitchen roof.  http://newmornings.wordpress.com/2009/12/10/boat-on-a-hot-slate-roof/

I'm now all alone with only my memories, so this project will help me cope you see Martin. Is it possible that you can point me
in the right direction. It doesn't even have to be a new motor because all I want to do is build it, hopefully to scale that may
never go on the water. I now host an international on line virtual yacht racing club every evening which takes me out of the
real world for a couple of hours per night with great mates.

Kind regards,
 John

Hi John,

I'm sure someone can help, do you know what the scale is of your cruiser?
What era is she styled in?

Martin, I've got those two outboards I bought a while back, there's a post with some pics here somewhere. If they are ok for your man, he's welcome to one of them, I'll never use two, only wanted one.

Hi Martin, Thank you for you quick response to my question :-)) I'm not sure what the scale will be untill I know the size of the Motor. But I plan on a length of 35 inch by 10 beam. The era was in the 1960's The Nomad canal river cruiser. Not sure if it was a Percy Blandford design ?

Hello John,

Just pm me your address and I'll send you a motor, I don't need it any longer, so you're welcome to it.
