JJC Products
« on: January 31, 2015, 03:28:23 pm »

Just wondering if anyone in the UK has bought or revived the JJC Products? Being from Canada, we don't always hear the latest news from the other side of the pond.
thanks, Dale

Sorry lad, some posts missing from here too:  http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,47172.msg509771/topicseen.html#msg509771

JJC went out of business years ago. ( Great products IMHO but some products had reliability issues and then the company suddenly disappeared. )

Lots of other products on the market, ACTion, MTronics, Canadian something..... ( Inertia posted with a full listing that the Server daemons stole! )

Engine Sounds and Other Sound Units are covered about 2/3 towards the end of this article. Website addresses for suppliers are right at the end.  http://www.modelboats.co.uk/news/article/but-i-don-t-understand-electronics/18054

Hello Dale

Just in case you missed my post, you might also consider Beier Electronics, the ability to layer sounds and also to control sounds and mechanical movements via switches or the sticks attracted me to the system. Four sounds on one stick if you don't want to buy the switch modules is easy to set up, though I did have to call on the help of a friend with one or two problems but the trick is to read the instructions!

Have a look at the link below.

Another friend in the club transferred the JJC triple to a file for me so i will be adding that to a card when i get round to it. The JJC still works perfectly but I really like the sound so a bit of insurance me thinks.

To digress a little, there are some Severn lifeboat engine sounds taken from a full-size boat, start up, proportional running, shut down and tickover, still around, recorded by a chap called Anthony ?? of RC model Workshops several years ago and they are very good but sadly no longer produced and I have not heard from Anthony for several years. The units are still out there though.

All the best
 Paul.

on your side of the pond try mrrcsound not cheap, but very good, I use technobots sound card with sd card, that I can transfer from boat to boat, and just change the card to match the boat. Its operated from a trigger device, on a redundant stick channel on tx, so I can play dialogue, music, engine sounds etc,
