Not many will have known him outside Devon and Cornwall, but it is with regret that I would like to inform those who did know him,of the death of Peter Harris of Torpoint Cornwall.
He was the Tamar Model Mariners. Peter had been modelling all types of ships for a very long time, and despite crippling arthritis in his hands still managed to do such things as the intricate rigging of his model of HMS Victory. He raised a lot of money for both the RNLI, and latterly the Cornwall Air Ambulance.Exhibiting at Rallies and shows all round the West Country. He had many models, the most notable being of the Tug "Turmoil" and the "Flying Enterprise",and a large model of HMS "Hood"
Although he could be a cantankerous so and so,he was also a good laugh when you got to know him.
My sympathies go out to his dear wife Flo,and to his family
R.I.P. you old ~~~~ I will miss you.
