1932 ALFA ROMEO 2300-SPIDER. BARN FIND DIORAMA.
« on: February 23, 2015, 07:33:04 pm »

Here is my 1/18 scale Alfa Romeo 2300 spider, yes it's a wreck having being used for hill climbs and then left to rot. I have added a leather seat, distressed it and added bristles to simulate the horsehair filling. Added a small windscreen and the painted and weathering it. Used real slate for the floor and just bits I had in the junk box.

Front left is lightly flat, you can just see the bulge. In fact it was pain as these tyres are 90% solid with just a slight inner for the rim, just wouldn't go soft enough to squash.  :D

Most grilles I have seen have been black on the real one, it looks more rusty in real life... %)

Frank...your jokes are not getting any better  %%

I have been asked to do this sort of this, but making it out of normal models with non-toxic glues, paints etc is just not cost effective.

Eddie it is great to see you still doing some modeling & making such a great job too, I, like Kenny find it hard to separate it from the real thing. You have a great talent keep on using it. Hi ARROW 5 I collect 1/18 scale cars, I think I have over 100 now (never count them) Cheers for now, Mick B,

Never count them Mick, it might cause a domestic accountancy debate >>:-(  I started with scooters, then Piaggio 3 wheelers before the cars.  No specific type.   No barn finds....yet !
