Huntsman help
« on: March 18, 2015, 04:35:52 pm »

Hi All
I am refurbishing a Fairey Huntsman 31 and have hit a few snags and being new to model boating I was hoping some of you who are much more experienced would be able to offer some assistance. I need to replace the windscreen but I do not have a template to fabricate one from a sheet of polycabonate, does anybody have a copy of this to assisst me. All help gratefully received
Many ThanksAXDXYE
Mike

Hi Mike,

I don't have the plans myself but should a Mayhemer not be able to assist then there are the plans available on eBay I beleive (full size for the 31 I think) which will give you an exact template. Only around £15 so not too much to lay out if really needed.

All the best,

Alex

Snap
I have just got hold of the same boat. Im going to strip it back and repaint mine and replace all the "glass" . I do have one on the boat im getting. If it does not snap when I take it off I may be able to lay it out and get a copy of the shape. Mine has gone yellow so fingers crossed.
I will give the old boat a new lease of life with a brushless motor set up. Just got to collect it on Friday night then the fun will start. Do you have any pics of yours ?

Mike
I have the original plan in AutoCAD R14.DWG format. If you can handle this format (or if your copy shop can) then PM me your regular E-Mail address and I'll send it to you. Usual price is a contribution to the RNLI next time you see one of their boxes.

This windscreen shape is now available in PDF format. It will fit on an A1 sheet. BTW there's no guarantee that it will fit your model exactly, as variations do creep in during builds and redrawing - but it's a good template to start with.
It's sitting here on my PC - the rest is up to you.
