Italian fishing boat
« on: March 14, 2015, 10:13:32 pm »

Just finished building my Christmas present from my wife (Mantua models Amalfi). It was meant to be a quick build but the conversion from static model to RC proved to be more of a challenge than expected due to the limited amount of space in the hull for all the gear. If the weather is fine tomorrow she might have her maiden voyage. Cheers Graham

Very nice work Richard much tidier than mine. Does she sail well? Cheers Graham

Well no chance to sail today as when I got to the pool there was a fun run on and no available access to the water. So here are some photos of the Amalfi internals. Look away all those who like neat tidy wiring and not spaghetti, Italian or otherwise. {-) Graham

Graham - sailing is very 'stately' (a.k.a. slow) with the cassette motor.

Managing to cram all the RC gubbins into the Mantua hull is an achievement, however tidy/untidy it is!

Like you, I had to decide how much of the solid bulkheads and keel I could safely hack out without
weakening the structure too much.

Good luck with the maiden voyage when you get to make it !
