Perkasa Flags
« on: April 06, 2015, 03:14:24 pm »

Have acquired a 37" Perkasa MTB.  Despite looking around on the internet, I am still not sure what ensigns/flags should be flown, when underway, and from which fore, aft, middle rigging, as it appears that everybody has different ideas.
Could someone help please and then go on to tell me where I can buy it/them?

The best person to ask is Mike Allsop at Scale Flags and Ensigns 01476 573 331 (no web site yet).
Brilliant quality and service, has a stand at most shows, and he is very knowledgeable on all aspects of flags for model boats.

Mike's your man
His flags are the best
Small ships usually flew an ensign from a yard at the after end of the mast
No Jack forrard unless in harbour
Ensign from the stern if not on the mast
At sea normally from the mast
Malaysian Ensign?

This help? Earlier Royal Malaysian Navy ensign based on White Ensign.

Sorry! Photo won't upload. I'll try again tomorrow.

BECC flags have the Malaysian ensign in their range.

There is a Commissioning Pennant, too. From Wikipedia:

Not sure of location, but possibly just above the sea ensign position.
