I have a new RB boat,got it onto the water last week and today,my problem is the amount of water getting into the hull, I have re greased the prop shafts,siliconed around the access hatch in the middle of the boat,the model does create a lot back spray/water from the bow when cutting through the water, anyone got any ideas where the water might be coming in.

PS the model is brand new.  {:-{

Did you get it local? If so a trip back to the model shop may be the next step. My next step would be to put the model in the bath and leave it for while. This should confirm if the problem is with the shafts or shaft exits from the hull or problems with the hull below the water line. It may be the hull should have some spray rails  fitted this will deflect the water away from the hull and stop it splashing onto the deck pm sent to you also.

Hi James,

1. It may be seeping up the rudder tube!
2. You may A 'pressure leak', ie. under pressure (going forwards) water finds a gap and forces it's way in.
3. Failing that, you may have to reseal the deck to hull joint.

First of put the boat in the bath and see if any water seeps in over time.

Hi, I go along with Martin, check your waterline in comparison with the height of the rudder tube it should be as high as you can get it. It is surprising how much water gets up that tube. Nemesis

I have noticed when it's on the water how down the stern looks, I don't know whether this is a good excuse
but the water was very choppy today,it's in the bath at the moment so we will see in a couple hours if there is any water there.

Hi, if no water gets in during your test I would recommend as Martin has already
Commented, check your (deck to hull joint), you can do it with a syringe And squirting
Along the joint and save swamping the whole deck with water.

Many thanks John for reply,going to play with it over the weekend, I have a feeling it might be the rudders.
