Hello to all
« on: June 12, 2015, 02:50:56 pm »

Hi there, my name is Mick Tattersall and I am a member of PAMBC (Peterborough Area Model Boat Club). I started boat building about 4 years after an unsuccessful attempt to try model helicopters! I Spent more time repairing them than flying them but realised I was enjoying the repairs and decide to swap to model boats and have not looked back since.
My first kit was a 38 inch Precedent Percasa which is still waiting to be finished. I realised as a novice that I had bitten off more than I could chew so I looked for a simpler challenge and settled on a FS Tenby kit (aka lookalike Shannon Lifeboat) from model slipway an this was on the water in 2months, and was recently on the club stand at Modellbau Dortmund exhibition where it received much praise and numerous offers to purchase it.
I have also dabbled in  sail by building a "wee nip" and have found this terrific fun to sail.
I have a project with a Trent lifeboat but I will post later with a plea for help.

Hey Mick, Welcome to the Mayhem!

"My first kit was a 38 inch Precedent Percasa which is still waiting to be finished."
Yes, that's normal... I think it's even in the instructions now!

"FS Tenby" - Any photos for sharing?!
