Four-cylinder Inline Structure steam engine plans
« on: June 17, 2015, 04:14:05 pm »

This is a new challenge, I'm not sure it is a perfect machine, but it is certain that I must be able to make it work!
Cylinder unit is now and I want to fight it on the basis of a four-cylinder out. This is a big project. It needs a new crankshaft.

Hi Jin.......I did respond earlier this morning here on MBM, however my posting has been deleted [by Moderators]  <*< as I included a direct translation of my text to you in your native tongue

This deletion was despite my acknowledging...that I understood the rules of not posting in languages other than English,  however I qualified this by stating that it was a direct translation, and of the type I use in PM's to you etc...............however

I can see this build as a combination of CAD design, CNC machining and laser cutting/profiling construction  O0 .........

One point as posted earlier was the apparent unique method of timing and securing the crankshaft web journals to the crank......I have not seen this concept used before......:-))..................Derek

Crankshaft is made of myself like that. Drilled hole and then copper pin fixed. There are some metal pieces with wire cutting process.

Thank you for your upload and indeed some very fine machining here but maybe i am old fashioned but seems to me this design has too many moving parts plus a accessability issue eg steam chests I would have preferred them at the sides and valves operated by cam and tumble reverse gear, also would need a sizable boiler again just my thoughts
Cheers
