I have seen them made from the clear domed part of pill or capsules with an led inside them hope this helps

I printed my own in 1:50... tiny little things, they needed super fine wire and teeny little LED chips to work:

I have used these with good success. Mount into a 3.5mm tube and insert a 3mm LED in the other end.
