New to models but i think i need one
« on: July 21, 2015, 04:50:24 pm »

Hello everyone,

i am new here and only joined today, when i was younger i used to love to watch model boats on the boating pond and always wanted to have one of my own. i have been looking around for a model that needs not a lot of work to be done to get it sailing, ebay has some fab models but far out of my price range, i did notice that a little tugboat is now on ebay and wondered what sort of price it is worth as it looks like it dosnt need much work

maybe someone has something for sale, i live near edinburgh, i like to see tugs towing things instead of just a model.

thank you,

Stan.

Hey Stan, Welcome to the Mayhem!

That's a Dickie /  Seaport Tug.... very popular for conversions / upgrades here on Mayhem, looks like that's one has been half done!

Stan

Welcome to the hobby.

By all means buy a model boat project on line (by auction) but if you are new to the hobby get yourself down to the Edinburgh model boat club (most Sundays). Someone there will have a project for sale. Also they will give lots of help and advice. A great bunch of chaps and a great sailing lake.

Good luck.
