Trying to find
« on: September 06, 2015, 03:10:44 pm »

Trying to find a UK stockist for this:-

The part number is RO1445 and while many shops advertise it none actually have any in stock.
The same seems to be the case in Europe as well. Or if they do stock it the postage is prohibitively expensive.

Suggestions for an alternative would be welcomed although the dimensions must be the same or very close.
If someone has one lurking in their bits box that too would be welcomed. (I don't need the insert sleeve bit)

This company seems to have them in stock http://www.krickshop.de/Elastik-Schiffsmodell-Kupplung.htm?shop=krick_e&SessionId=&a=article&ProdNr=ro1445

Yes I know, and they want 19.95 euros postage  :((

There are a few in Europe with them in stock but all of them want silly amounts for postage.

The Radioactive ones are almost twice as long and will not fit where I want to put them. Hence why I said the same dimensions (28mm long)

Umi Ryzuki
Thanks for the suggestion, but again these are too long

Although I am now thinking perhaps I can use the inserts from the universal couplings and fit my own bit of rubber pipe

Does anyone know the diameter of the fluted section of these inserts

MMB - Marks Model Bits used to sell them with his 900 motors. He supplied the tubing long so it could to trimmed to length. It might be worth an enquiry he is very helpful and will know sizes at least.

hi there essex2visuvesi

the outside diameter of the flutes is near enough 8mm - or if you want to be spot on - 2 of them out of 5 are 7.9 mm and the other 3 are 8 mm.

Also, do you have a car auto shop where you live? If you do, call in there because you may be able to purchase re-enforced flexible fuel piping.  You can cut the pipe yourself to the required length and use brass inserts.

Mobile Marine Models also sell ones like MMB. Again, you can cut the tube to whatever length suits.
