« on: December 27, 2013, 07:41:59 pm »

Hello friends, happy new year  :-))

Someone knows where to find the plan and documentation on the steam Charlotte DUNDAS. (Engine and hull)

Is there a place in Scotland where I can see something? FALKIRK? ? ? Museum GLASGOW? ? ?

I did not find much on the net

regards

Hello Gazou,go on to the Edinburgh model boat club web site,on there you will see a link to the Scottish Federation of model boat clubs, send an e'mail to Iain Moffat, the web master,he can help you,I have spoken to him and he says he can help,a member of our club has built a model of the Charlotte Dundas, but it was a while ago,but we have not seen him for a while,I think Iain will have a record of contact details.

Is there not a full size replica of her in Greenock ? I'm sure I used to see one beside the road when I rode my motorbike home from Glasgow the long way round down the coast.

Toby,

It's Port Glasgow and the boat is a replica of the Comet built by yard apprentices.

I believe there is a 2/3 full size replica of the Charlotte at the Falkirk Wheel.
George.

hello

I have to go to Falkirk in May 2014, I have to take pictures of the wheel (there are already all over the net) for a friend who is going to make the model. He wants pictures of the terrain around to make an animated diorama (large area)
I hope to meet Scottish MAYHEMMERS

I would see the reproduction of the CHARLOTTE DUNDAS perhaps

thank you all for your replies,

Thought you might like to see my 'COMET' which was scratch-built with an electric motor (sorry for those bad words!) which drive the piston up and down and all the cranking gear-wheels. With my smoker she looks very authentic on the water. Here is the Port Glasgow replica.... and mine.
