1/16 SHERMAN V TIGER.
« on: March 12, 2016, 02:29:48 pm »

I have finally finished my lads RC Sherman, so it was out for a spin, unfortunately my battery died so my Tiger was a sitting duck  >:-o

A cautious Sherman spies the Tiger...

It closes in gun ready to blast the Tiger...

The Tiger appears abandoned but a search of the area is required...

And finally some better shots showing the new grille work, scratches and cabelling for the lights and smoke launchers, some decals instead of the kill rings-something a bit different.

Very nice pix  :-))
Partial to German half tracks myself; I guess that's because of all those old desert war films I watched as a kid.

The short barrel Sherman would have to put a round from the rear to penetrate the Tigers armour.
Front or side the shell wouldn't penetrate.
A later long barrel Sherman would be a different story though.

Thank you, there is half-track but it is expensive IIRC.

This Sherman is really a infantry support, it is sporting a 105mm howitzer, so in reality it wouldn't even get close enough.

The others are 75 mm and of course the 17 pounder Firefly.

Old war films showed M2A2 US halftracks, not the Hanomag the germans had, or the 6 or 8 wheeled Armoured cars in the desert, I also liked the British Humber Armoured car, and in a documentary of vehicles on one of the movies for men, there was an Italian armoured car quite akin to the current vehicles used in Afghanistan, will have to do a search
