After reading depressing posts regarding poor service and dispicable buisness practices of certain uk model shops, I would like to recount a recent 'pleasant' shopping experience, hopefully spreading a little Christmas cheer re this tainted subject.
Mr and Mrs Zippy's 2015 Christmas pressies are a pair of Graupner Micro Magic yachts - an incentive to encourage us relocate to Suffolk where the local Southwold and Woodbridge model boat clubs sail MM's.
A quick internet trawl revealed Anglia Model Centre to be the cheapest and held kits in stock, I duly ordered 2,
kits arrived a day earlier than expected, nicely packed taped up with orange FRAGILE tape etc.
I checked through kit no.1 this was all ok, on opening kit no.2 I immediately spotted a yellowish aged tint to the white plastic mouldings and plastic reinforcing parts badly glued to the deck and more assembled parts, an old half built kit?.
I contacted Anglia Model Centre and they correctly pointed out my kits are new and unopened stock sealed with Graupners 2 inch clear tape,
but acknowledged I had a faulty kit, during our conversation another MM kit was opened to check its contents, which were thankfully the same as my correct no.1 kit.
I returned suspect kit no.2 (£13 postage) and recieved the pre-checked kit from Anglia 2 days later with an envelope containing a £10 note and a £5 note to cover my postal costs - what great service, a breath of fresh air and I think it deserves mentioning here !
Happy Christmas to all, regards Paul.
needless to state I have no connections with Anglia MC, just a satisfied customer giving credit where it's due.
