Fairey Spearfish model boat grp hull and cabin
« on: January 18, 2016, 05:59:55 pm »

Hopeful of some guidance concerning a Huntman 34" grp hull and cabin I helped my dad finish this boat quite some years ago and fitted an Irvine 61 and all control gear plus box and control panel, starter and remote control. I have kept it for sentimental reasons as my dad passed away but find my self with no space. Engine as been run at the most 30 mins and was bought new. My question is I would like to know what is worth as I would like to sell it to someone who would appreciate the work that as gone into it. I hope this is the right place to ask if not really sorry. It was my intension to sail her but have found I have no time or space to store. Thanks for reading

Hi,

without pictures and a full description its impossible to answer what value it has. Unfortunately as you only have 1 post you have not been around long enough to post in the for sale section (25 posts I think)

If you do put up pictures I am sure you will receive some guidance to the value :-))

Mine. too. I bet that goes with a 0.61 in it!
I'd expect it to sell for something in between £100 - £130, although you might get lucky. I'm afraid that the work that's gone into it has actually lessened its value - it would probably be worth more as a pristine kit and unrun, boxed engine and radio.
Good luck anyway!

Sorry I dont know how to edit title.
After about half an hour of posting your original text you can't change anything about it. You have to throw yourself prostrate before contact the Forum Dementors Moderators and beg ask them to do it for you. If you're very lucky they'll kill you quickly agree.    ...and it is a Spearfish. Trust me - it seems I'm something of an authority on Faireys.......

It is always good to be an expert on something Dave, even if it is Faireys.

I would have chosen a cheeky icon there but I can't seem to be able to select such things.

Have I opted out for some reason?

talk about going off topic! :}

Anyway, I'm real sorry to say this, I know what it means to have a sentimental attachment to a boat, but here is the hard to swallow advice. You did ask :((

As Dave says, unmade, pristine, it has  a value, however, superstructure appears to be missing, radio equipment has no real value as its old technology, engine might/might not run, it has no real detail, inside of hull is pretty rough. You might get lucky on ebay, one mans rubbish is another's treasure. It wants a ton of work, I think its £50ish.

Please don't take offence, put it on the bay, and see how you do, but any more and you have had a result, in my opinion, and its only my opinion.

Been relisted but I would not put this in..

" needs windscreen and brass rudder would think ten pounds will cover it”

because if it costs more than ten pounds it could be claimed as Item as not described " daft yes I know , but then it is Ebay...
