Hi Kraken08,

Welcome to the  Mayhem!

The Mtronics speed controllers are much smaller and are waterproof, so they do have that advantage.
(They are also a much more modern design... )

But these is nothing wrong with the Electronize, both have many advocates on Mayhem!

Since march i've been reading to this website and it helped me alot.. At first i was worried of the esc because if it cant handle the amp and breaks down then it would be much trouble to me because i'm from the philippines and shipping would take a month (return & shipping) i guess, But Now i'm certain that both esc can handle the mfa 540 6:1 motor.. Now purchasing 14 items from uk and if the delivery goes well then i'll be ordering again for my next project and reading more from this website.. I really like rc fishing trawler and rc tugboat.. thank you so much Modelboatmayhem :-) :-))

Mtronics ESCs are very compact sealed modules and in the unlikely event of failure need replacement rather than repair.
Electronize ESCs, in the equally unlikely event of failure, can be disassembled and repaired by replacing the failed component, but are bulkier than Mtronics.
Action ESCs are pretty good, too.

Welcome to the Forum.   :-))

It's always a good idea to get the highest amperage ESC's you can afford because you never know when you might  'upgrade'  the motor one day.

I would go for 20 amps at least.   %)

Cheers

Mtroniks for me. I use them in all my boats.

I have tried a couple of Electronize and found them fine for speed but noisy and less controlable for slow running.

Also had good response from Mtroniks when I've asked questions.

Mtronics for me, never had one fail. Waterproof I regard as essential, whatever precautions you take, eventually they get wet.

Thanks for all the suggestions.. I now use mtroniks tio marine 30amp.. About my trawler i'm not sure which has more propulsion and faster

50mm propeller vs. 45mm propeller with 50mm kort nozzle

Both are using mfa 6:1 geared motor, 12v battery, m4 prop shaft, type A propeller

Fishing Trawler- Length 31 inches, Beam- 10inches
