I have never been a fan of Mixers, BUT........
« on: September 15, 2007, 04:10:04 pm »

My Prinz Eugen has 3 shafts. I have powered all 3 so was looking for a way to control the centre motor.
Using individual channels would use up 4 (3 motors, 1 rudder).
I had this on a 1/96 Scale Prinz Eugen, and was forever fighting the outer props with the centre one.
Thought long and hard, and the easiest way was to use a MIXER, with 3 speed controller outlets.
So I ordered ESC's and mixer from ACTion.
They arrived the next day!!
Have just fitted them all and am very surprised.
The set up seems spot on for what I want.
All working well and only using 1 channel on receiver.
I still prefer individual stick control, but for me, on 3 shafts, SUPERB.
I have even recommended a mixer to another modeller.

hi ya there Bob

Just out of curiosity, I presume your two outside props are turning outboard?  so, which direction is your centre prop turning - looking from astern - and what size motors is in her?

I believe the model is 1:96 scale isnt it, so she be around the 6 foot long mark?

As far as speed of delivery is concerned from ACTion, Ive known Dave's wife to run out on a Sunday lunch time (whilst cooking the dinner) to post packages which I received on a Monday morning.  First class service.

John,
She is 1/72 Scale, about 9'9.
Yes the outer props turn outward and the centre prop is left handed, same as port prop.
The outer props are just under 3" and the centre prop is 2 1/2 inch with a pitch of almost 45%.
The motors are MFA 800's (3) on 12 volts, from Stavros, hence his comments about motors.
I had a 1/96 scale Prinz Eugen, but stupidly sold it to Richard Howard at Child Beale, never to be seen again!!
So far in air all 3 motors draw 5 amps in total.
