Tyne DAS Lifeboat
« on: June 04, 2016, 09:27:29 pm »

I have a plan from My Hobby Store of this lLifeboat, but cannot work out where the prop shaft "tunnels" end. I am going to construct these with strip timber.
Moving on to the hull which is the preferred meth of the skin Plywood or Strip planking.
Lastly the Cabins what is recommended Balsa frame covered with Ply or Foam board.
Thanks and look forward to input from all out there.

It's the vac form hull for the plan you've got. The original model cabins were built in plastic card, so if you want to build in wood, then make it light. Balsa would be OK, if you can fill the grain.

Thanks Furball for the info not realising what material was meant to be used for this plan I might have drop one as I have already started and done the basic structure ( Hull formers etc) and now have the basic skeleton assembled and now looking to do the propeller "tunnels" which is the issue I have problem with as can not determine where and how to finish them.
