Hi All
Well it has take nearly 4 years to see this through to completion, to which we owe a great deal of thanks to our Group Secretary David and Vice Commodore Bob in see thing through what has been at times a very rocky road trip.
Our Thanks also go to Arthur Taylor who sadly passed away a few years ago who with David helped kick start this project with the Council.

Here is a link to our first day of proper use of the Lakeside Pavilion.

Congratulations. :-))
Terrific lake and Boats.
It shows what some Councils can do given a push.
Hope they don't find any newts in your lake.  %%

Congratulations and well done on the work put in by the Club.  Your pond has fond memories for me, being Runcorn born.  Hope the club and the pond have many more years together!

The Pavilion was the old toilets, and very much derelict and a bit of an eyesore, to be honest the old Bomb shelter next to it was in better condition, the refurbishment was down to a hard earned Lottery Grant, which included a new Café, Visitor centre at the top of the park, for the park to be refreshed, the old toilet block to be designated as the Pavilion and for works to be done around the lake..
As regards newts, certainly never seen one there , however as the pond started life as a paddling pool and is completely man made, it would be interesting. But seeing that gold fish people have put in the pond before do not last very long down to Herons, I doubt they would either.
A few more Pictures from Today .

Hello,

The first time ever showing of my two big yachts together !.
Bluenose and Endeavour both out at the same time.
Only problem all weekend was the almost complete lack of wind.
Lots of visitors and lots of interest in all of the clubs boats.

John,  :-)) :-)) :-))

Saw Endeavour at Bridlington open day a few years ago.

I am sure I saw one of these lovelies at Wicksteed a few weeks back. Both the boats you had with you were attractive and looked even more graceful on the water.

I love your New pavillion chaps!

Hello,

Sailing on our refurbished Lake, on Wednesdays and Sundays, starting just before noon, will now be enjoyed more than ever before.
There is a Cafe, which has toilets, new childrens play areas, extra parking places, all new paths and fences, all very, very nice.

John.  :-) :-) :-)
