Help needed with model galleon restoration
« on: June 26, 2016, 08:25:52 pm »

Regular readers of Model Boats will probably recall the excellent and comprehensive article by John Lockley on building the Flower class Corvette HMS Crocus which was published in the July 2012 issue.
John’s daughter Susan has written to say that her father sadly passed away at the end of last month. At the time he was putting the finishing touches to restoring a model Galleon on behalf of a neighbour and she wonders if anyone would be willing to complete the model. She appreciates that it might be difficult to find someone to do this without payment and on behalf of a stranger but it might be that somebody would come forward.
From the photos provided it would appear that the model is essentially complete with just some of the sails and running rigging to be added.
I understand the model is currently in Seascale, Cumbria. If anyone is interested in helping out please let me know, either on the Forum or by PM and I will put you in touch with Susan.
One photo below and there are some more on the Model Boats website. http://www.modelboats.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=118496
