When you say "castle nuts" do you mean the ones that have several slots across the top?  Or acorn nuts?  Anyway, digging through my bookmarks reveals a few sites that may be helpful.

Castellated Nuts is the correct description I think.

I have always known them as castellated nuts but on a lot of sites they list them now as castle nuts.

This is a Russian site ( I think!). Is this what you are looking for? No picture though.

They may be cosmetic, rather than functional though. - but as I don't speak Russian, so...........

They are for a Severn Lifeboat propellors which are secured with castellated nuts and split pins.

Like these?
http://www.nutsboltsandthings.co.uk/castle-nuts
or these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Turnbuckle-Stainless-Castle-Slotted-Nuts-Multi-Listing-M4-to-M18-/221231462658

Drilling the hoe in the shaft for the pin or wire could be a job and a bit - for function I would go for a nyloc and maybe, if I was that bothered about appearance, modify that to look like a wired/pinned nut.

It is purely a cosmetic appearence the nuts will be soldered on the propellers with a sub shaft and pin soldered in the nut.

I am using K-lock nuts on my boat as they look pretty close and can be used to lock the props in place as well.
