OK, I took the trip to Chatham Dockyards this morning, there are 2 model shops there, one is a hard left as you enter and near travel lodge, this one does pretty much everything but boats (though I didnt see many planes either). The other is inside the dockyard, so you need to drive to the barrier and tell them you want the boat model shop. then you are allowed in to the boat model shop, which is  straight on from the barrier.
unfortunately I am building in 1/12 scale, and there are not a lot of fittings in this scale, so I just managed to pick up 1 prop and 2 ships wheels that were about the right size.
It is good to see 2 model shops working in harmony together in such a small area, being in the dockyard they both have the advantage of having the dockyard visitors as passing trade, so an advantage there.

I usually pop into the Dockyard Model Shop every couple of weeks when I'm in the Dockyard.

Nice place & usually have a chat with Rob, the owner, when there.

(I also build big blue boats in 1/12 - but no orange, far too modern :-)

Cheers

A lot have gone since I moved here 20 years ago. TJD Models which is addressed as Dartford but is Sutton at Hone is good. Mainly airplanes though but a big place & loads of stock. I bought my radio from there plus some servos & battery packs.
Ashford Model Centre mail me pretty frequently but I have never been.  Model World in Sittingbourne again never been.
