Ideas wanted on a double ended clinker built hull.

Anyone have any suggestions or images that could inspire another model ?

Why not a Longship. My first wooden kit was Billings Osberg Ship and was quite a challenge as the clinker hull is very complex on the Osberg. Here is an interesting blog - http://milboat.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/how-to-build-clinker-built-boat.html

Hi I was going for a rc model.

approx 3foot 6 inches.
double ender. Just cant think what I could do with it.
Thinking about some sort of fishing boat or old fashioned trawler.but so far been unable to find any images on the internet.

Davis's boat in The Riddle of the Sands is a centreboard yawl yacht conversion based on a ship's lifeboat hull like the one posted by Kipper. Room to get creative?

Dispro (Disappearing Propeller) boats are double ended clinker built. Although mainly found in the USA & Canada, the Windermere Steamboat Museum has one in the collection "Uncle Sam". A few links here, but more to be found.

What sort of vessel is it.
I have done a quick search and can only find sailing dinghy’s.

A scaffie is a scottish fishing boat, about the same size as a north sea coble, but double ended rather than punt shaped.

Traplet also do the plans for Reaper,
a scottish fifie fishing boat which is
still around and is based in Anstruther in Fife.

I am not sure if you have looked at the descriptions.

Scafie Rose is "full details of original but no model construction."
Scafie Margret says "scaledrawings of a Moray FirthScaffie as researchinformation forexperienced modellers." I am not sure what that means. Perhaps someone who knows more about MM plans can explain. However, the model was "eatured over four issuesDec 95 Jan Feb andMarch 96 MM. And so there is additional info to support the build.

I'm not sure how clear these photo's will be but these are the MM plans of a scaffie drawn by James Pottinger, 1" to 1' on two sheets of A2 paper..

As you will see there is plenty of detail for building included but it still leaves a lot of research needed by the builder to get the fitments correct. As can be seen they are not for the novice or even intermediate builder really. I am quite experienced but would have problems to overcome.

I forgot the dimensions, as drawn it is Keel length 15in approx. Bow post to rudder post 24in approx with a beam of 8in approx.
