The Halmatic boat that was trialled by the 'Marines' about twelve years ago was of very similar design. It was. apparently able to be air dropped, from the back of a Hercules C-130 transport aircraft in theatre. The 'Marines' had to be actively discouraged from riding down with it..."OFF ROAD!!!!!"

the halmatic/vosper boat was called the vsv. or very slender vessel. sounds like my missus. was talk at one point of the customs using them
