Find me a topic please

Possibly a year or so ago I saw a post on a boat build that had a working door/crewman.

I'm thinking it was a passenger craft for some reason and the detail showed the linkage of how they got the door to open and a crewman/passenger to move out of the doorway - pushed/held on the end of a wire.

Does this description ring any bells with anyone? Can anyone post a link? Or does anyone actually know how this system operated and can post a sketch or drawing of it?

Scheesh !!!   You've opened a can of worms there, Brian.

Reminds me of that giant model exhibition in Germany which has all sorts of moving objects and items from planes to trains.

I am very interested in seeing how this is done, so get your thinking caps on, fellas. 

Any ideas  ?

Its funny how snippets of info stick in your head. My problem is I downloaded the photo's from the post but when my old computer called it a day I lost the info when I bought a new one <:(

Nope sorry John, thats a ramp, I'm talking about a door that swings open and a figure appears to walk out, I guess like a cuckoo clock ----------heyyyy!!! its got to be similar!

It will take some narrowing down but I saw something like this at Dortmund this year .I think it was on a fire station /hospital ,I will try to find it ,the only thing there will be no detail .

Well talk about chase your tail, plenty to tell you about cuckoo clocks but nothing that shows a detailed diagram :( I guess I'm back to scribbling on paper and cutting 'cams' until I get something that will work.
