Need advice on size of water jet thruster
« on: July 30, 2024, 10:48:31 pm »

Hello

I have purhased a Amewi/Tfl Big princess with a hull length of 1300mm and want to swap the single prop drive unit to 2 waterjet thrusters, in case of this I need advice on the outlet size of the nozzle on the thrusters.

Billings Boat Thor (Cost Guard) is set-up with to of those KMD Jets, my experience is that they run great with a 1700KV Brushless and 100-150A ESC both water cooled.

I also used to enjoy a small version of this Princess (960mm OAL/37.8") that ran thrillingly very fast as it was. {-)
And I did not feel to change the brushless motor to other one at all, but it looks so interesting for you to replace with twin water jet thruster type of boat. !! :-))
I'm looking forward to your process of the conversion of the drive system. :-))
