Brushless ESC Brushed Motor
« on: February 28, 2018, 08:07:50 pm »

Browsing Ebay this evening and came across this boat for sale. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sea-Rover-Boat-Model-Wooden-boat-with-remote/152919956093?hash=item239abd5a7d:g:RdUAAOSwRCpakEXZ

I'm a little confused by what looks like a Brushless ESC supplying a brushed motor.
What does the orange cable do, for instance?    Ian

It does state it needs repair - my guess is that a new ESC is top of the list !

Looks like a Tamiya ESC that comes with late RC car kits - switchable between brushed and brushless motors....probably suit the boat admirably.

Hi Grasshopper,

Thanks very much for explaining about the switchable ESC. Being a relatively inexperienced RC modeller, i'd never heard of these.
I've had a look at them on the tinterweb.
You learn something new every day. :-)       Ian.
